University of Oklahoma School Colors

History of the Oklahoma colors
In the fall of 1895, a committee chaired by student May Overstreet chose crimson and cream as the University of Oklahoma's colors. The colors were displayed before the student body, which approved them enthusiastically, and demand for pennants and banners quickly outstripped what local merchants could supply. The university notes that in practice its colors have shifted toward crimson and white over the years, though crimson and cream remain the official answer.
