History of the Boise State colors
Boise State's colors date to the first year of Boise Junior College in 1932-33, when students chose blue and orange and also picked the Bronco name. The University Archives notes that the colors go back to that first year, but for decades apparel and memorabilia also came in other colors such as red, green and yellow.
